3 simple ways to *actually* change your life in 2017.
Stop wasting time.
For some reason us humans, floating around on a planet in the middle of a galaxy, think that time is almost infinite. The truth is time is very limited for all of us. The fact that in a few decades none of us will be here anymore should be more than enough to catapult you to take action. Not only that, but possibilities really are endless. The fact that we are even here is ‘impossible’. So ask that guy on a date, apply for that dream job, and travel to the city you’ve always wanted too. Time is ticking by, use it as a positive not a negative. Take small steps each day to be the best version of yourself. As Louise Hay says, “How you start your day is how you live your day. How you live your day is how you live your life.”
Change your routine.
Remember that your reality is a result of the things you do on a daily basis, from what you eat for breakfast to where you go to work or school. If you’re going to change your life’s circumstances, its very simple, you will have to change the things you do every single day.
- Making even the smallest changes to your daily routine can radically change your life. For example, eat something healthy for breakfast, exercise before work, push your boundaries, send a risky productive email. Small changes like these may seem insignificant, but they will make your life in the long run by adding variety.
- Ask yourself this question on a routine basis: Is what I am doing (or not doing) helping me get where I want to be? This applies to who you surround yourself with, your eating and exercise habits and what you spend the bulk of your day doing. If the answer is no, then make the necessary change.
Overcome fear, self-doubt, and insecurity
Fear and self doubt is the number one block of you living the life of your dreams. But you have to leap out of your comfort zone, push past your fears to become the best version of yourself “leap and the net will appear“. You were scared the first day your parents dropped you off at school. You were scared before you moved out of your parents. You felt fear before you started that first job after college. Yet, all those experiences were vital to your growth.
The same holds true for what scares you today.
Stop making excuses. I’m here to tell you that you are never going to “feel ready.” Stretching yourself beyond your comfort zone will feel scary today, a month from now, or in 5 years.
So the real question is “When is enough enough?” Have you held back the best version of you for too long? It really is time to change your life. Try these steps today and make a difference. For good.
